Druken Fist 2: Zombie Hangover is a beat’em all, in which you play a rocker who wakes up with a terrible wooden face in a city invaded by zombie of all kinds.
You only have one thing to do, neutralize all the zombies without forgetting to drink a few beers by passing and relieve you. Because it is unfortunate to say, but it is thanks to the inhibition of the fear provided by the drunkenness that our hero advances.
A gameplay a thousand places from others:
Our rocker is advancing, slowing down, with a latency that can challenge any competition, to put the developers to simply transcribe the effects of alcohol in the controls.
In addition if the bladder of our character is full, we will have to think about doing him, peeing because otherwise you will lose life. If the puddles of urine can be used to slide the zombies, they can also slide you.
To help your character you can use: iron bar, baseball bat,… and don’t forget to drink beers to regain a few life points.
An artistic direction,… particular:
To move forward in history you will have to defeat a specific number of zombie in closed areas. The set made in low poly, made me think of the first 3D games of the PlayStation 1st of the name.
We are entitled in this game, to several kinds of zombies: classic, firefighter armed with ax, policeman with pistol, radioactive, soldier,….
The progression is made all along a rock music background, and when you explode an zombie an audio comment at the Mortal Kombat resonates.
Some small downsides:
Certainly the playability corresponds well to the game but the hits-box is sorely lacking in precision.
The artificial intelligence of enemies is nonexistent.
The animations are sometimes amazing, for example the arms of the character have more than improbable angles.
And when you are surrounded, only one possibility: die, because the game quickly becomes unplayable.
Personally I find it hard to promote the scenario, because having to drink alcohol and relieve yourself to move forward.
Despite these numerous faults, and the lack of interest in the scenario, I surprised myself to make some parts in time lost, and even take pleasure in it. A game does not need to be perfect to be fun, Drunken Fist 2 is proof of this.
